Last month we were delighted to be involved with two groups of young people aged 15-17 from ‘NCS The Challenge’ to help raise awareness of our charity.
The purpose of this partnership was as a means of socially mixing, engaging local young people in local community projects and providing a platform where young people can give back to community partners.
The young people met up with some of our counsellors and trustees to hear about our work we do at Youthline and to see how they could help deliver a ‘social action project’.
We had two groups. One group worked on creating a short film of Youthline which included the work we do, who we are and inside our counselling rooms, and hope this will be available shortly to view on our website. The other group produced amazing paintings to add to our walls to add a splash of colour and to represent what they learnt about Youthline in a creative way.
For Youthline to have the opportunity to work with these local young people was enlightening. Some of these young people attend local schools and although most aware of Youthline it was interesting for them to find out more about our work and how easily accessible Youthline is.
Thank you very much to all who were involved and hope to be involved with NCS The Challenge next year.
